Policies & Guidelines

At Tinkerbell School, our policies and guidelines are designed to create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for all students. Below is a summary of our key expectations. For full details, please refer to the Student Handbook (PDF) provided at the start of each school year.

Uniform & Grooming

Students are expected to wear the full school uniform each day and maintain neat grooming.

  • Hair must be tidy and appropriate for school.

  • Jewellery and accessories should be minimal.

  • Sports attire is to be worn only on designated activity days.

Behaviour & Discipline

Our approach is based on fairness, consistency, and growth.

  • Minor issues are addressed through teacher guidance.

  • Repeated or serious misconduct will involve parental meetings.

  • The goal is always to correct behaviour while supporting the student’s wellbeing and learning.

Homework & Learning Support

Homework reinforces classroom learning and builds responsibility.

  • Tasks are age-appropriate and meaningful.

  • Parents are encouraged to provide guidance, but not complete tasks on behalf of the child.

  • Additional learning support is available for students who need extra help.

Student Code of Conduct

We expect all students to:

  • Show respect to teachers, peers, and staff.

  • Take responsibility for their own learning.

  • Act with honesty and integrity.

  • Care for school property and the environment.

  • Uphold a positive attitude in and out of the classroom.

Bullying, disruptive behaviour, or disrespect will not be tolerated and will be addressed according to the school’s discipline procedures.

Health & Wellbeing

  • Sick students should remain at home until fully recovered.

  • Parents must notify the school of any medical conditions.

  • Medication required during school hours must be handed to the office with clear instructions.

  • The school promotes healthy habits, safe play, and emotional wellbeing.

Digital Safety & Device Use

  • Personal devices may only be used with teacher approval.

  • Students are expected to use technology responsibly.

  • Any misuse of devices or online platforms will result in restricted access and follow-up action.

Timetable & Attendance

  • Students must arrive punctually each morning.

  • Absences should be reported to the office in advance.

  • Leaving school during the day requires an Early Pick-Up Form and approval.

  • Staying after school is permitted only with teacher or school permission.

  • All public holidays and term breaks follow the official school calendar.

Communication with Parents

We believe in strong school-home partnerships.

  • Official updates are sent via notices, circulars, and email.

  • Parents are encouraged to check communications regularly.

  • Contact details should be kept up to date with the school office.
